Finding the Right Font

Typography is the way letters form and words look on a page. Being able to read them in a pleasing way is the reason for why topography is a thing. It is not always the words being said but they way they are presented and how they come across to the reader. The way I like to explain letters in the sense of typography is that each letter has a :

-home/origin

-character

-personality

-family

-mood

These all come together to create the letter fonts. Each letter fonts can be similar but also can be very different. It depends upon the mood of positive or negative font or the family it originates from. For example, a serif font is a part of the serif family and they all originate from the same background.

Fonts have different names just like people do, and that is how you tell them apart from others. The different games allow you to choose which fonts you like, create a life for them and then live it out.

The games that include typography allow you to choose a letter and then help them find a “life-partner” and it explores the character of that letter font as well. Similar to finding a life partner in a relationship, it is the same on the game  Type Connection.

If you are a competitive person, Type War is for you! This game allows you to choose the correct font that appears in a letter. Playing this game allows you to:

  1. Learn the fonts

  2. Be successful in an online game

  3. Identity which fonts are your favorites

Typography is simple. It all comes down to what looks best on that medium. What look best on that poster, pamphlet, paper or even that big billboard sign on the side of the road. You have a good set of eyes and a good head on your shoulders. Do not rush the process and decision because font is uber important, however go with what you personally believe looks best. Hey, you have gotten this far.. I am confident you will do just fine in this realm of typography.
