Social media is insanely important! It is everywhere in the world now. Every single person in the world from about 12 years old and up probably has social media. It can reach everyone. It is super useful because everyone can use it and can see it. Since there is a super large audience that social media can reach, it is a good channel of communication and also it is sorta like a fad thing. If you have social media you are cool and popular. It is not uncommon to hear people say “did you see what xyz posted?”
When creating a campaign, the important elements to include/remember are:
-style
-target audience
-post size for each social media
I know this seems like a no brainer, however it is wildly important to not have any spelling errors. You are a PR professional, therefore, there should be no issues of that kind.
When designing for social media, you should keep in mind:
-call to action
-readability
-consistent font
-consistent voice
-consistent branding and culture
Also, remember to know WHO you are designing for and what their audience wants to see. Your ideal posts are different than what other people's ideal posts look like. Be aware of the audience and the company you are posting for.
A great tool for social media creations is Canva. You can create a free account easily. Canva is great because it allows you to create any social media post or photo. It is easy to use. You can change colors, fonts, sizes, pictures and much more. It allows you to use uploaded media of your own or the site’s media. It has some great tools and also some great little tricks.
